Something else to make life harder

On the news today is the story of a teacher who was fired for lowering the grade of a student who slept in class. This is just another attack of the authority of the teacher in their own classroom. So far we aren't trusted to evaluate our own student's progress (Standardized testing), express our religious beliefs (eviloution and the origin of life), and discipline children (corpral punishment). Now I'm not saying that teachers should be allowed to beat kids, I am saying that they have no real power. Once a kid finds out that all that a teacher can do to them is say "Oh no, You've been bad!" all hell will break loose. A teacher should be allowed to manage their classroom without having to worry about senseless lawsutes and selfish, ignorant parents.
